I saw a woman was trying to unwrap her sandwich while holding her drink on the subway. Another lady extended her hand, offering to hold her drink to make it easier. I just thought it was cute since no words were exchanged other than two smiles.

My roommate was super stressed about a midterm she had later today. When i came back to my room she was freaking out. I reached into my bag and took out a cookie i had bought for her. She instantly smiled and said she felt a lot better :)

A few months ago, I was flying back to China to visit my parents.
Due to technical issues, my flight was delayed. While waiting at the boarding gate, I saw an old couple trying to talk to the airline staff but due to the language barrier, both parties could not understand each other. So I took the initiative to help the old couple out. Throughout the entire 20+ hours of travel, I continuously helped and chatted with them.
After we safely landed in China and saw them meet their relatives, I felt so warm and happy.

I saved up some money from working over the summer and purchased over 60 books for the kids’ patients in my city’s hospital. Some kids were from very poor rural families (in China) so they had never afforded to read fun books.
